Hello Allan et al;

I have not been able to find an answer to this question, so i very much appreciate your help and look forward to retaining your services in 2018 & beyond…

Quick intro on myself. I just opened a Federal Numbered Corp, dual registered with Ontario. The business activities consist of selling a Crypto course via Online to world-wide customers. We will also be importing computer components from China, assembling locally, and selling computers plug & play ready via Online to world-wide customers.

I have noticed several other vendors in Canada charging different tax rates which is causing confusion for me. Biggest question is about Mississauga based PC Canada www.pccanada.com who are not charging any tax at all to their customers. I know they are not marking up prices to include taxes. I also know they are not paying tax on behalf of customers as they would lose money on the lower marked up items. Is it because they sell via Online? Is it because there is an exemption to sell computer components via Online? Other vendors across Canada are also not charging taxes, or just GST, or full HST – it really is different with each vendor. I would like to follow PC Canada and not charge tax to my customers if there is a way to do this? If there is no way to do this then I will need to know what rate to charge customers who reside in other countries? My understanding is I would charge tax based on the shipping location of the customer. What if the customer is from another country?
