  1. I am thinking about taking a Job in Canada. The Company I will work for I think is a US Company. What will be the persent of Taxes I will have to pay to Canada working 182 day in Canada.

    1. Hi Kelly,

Since you will be in Canada for less than 183 days in the year, you will not be a deemed resident of Canada. As a non resident of Canada, you only have to pay Canadian income taxes on income earned in Canada.

Note: Non residents pay the tax at the same tax rates as residents of Canada. The big difference between the two is that non residents do not receive the regular tax credits available to residents, unless the non resident’s Canadian income is 90% or more of his/her total worldwide income.

For an estimate of taxes payable, please use this online calculator http://www.ey.com/CA/en/Services/Tax/Tax-Calculators

      Thanks,
